Summary:
While other teenage girls daydream about boys, Calla Tor imagines ripping out her enemies’ throats. And she wouldn’t have it any other way. Calla was born a warrior and on her eighteenth-birthday she’ll become the alpha female of the next generation of Guardian wolves. But Calla’s predestined path veers off course the moment she saves the life of a wayward hiker, a boy her own age. This human boy’s secret will turn the young pack's world upside down and forever alter the outcome of the centuries-old Witches' War that surrounds them all
Review: A GREAT read! Very mild profanity. Like-able characters. Fascinating story. This really isn't one of those dime-a-dozen werewolf books that are popping up lately (in which I do NOT include The Dark Divine) because the characters in the book aren't werewolves. They're shape-shifters. None of these namby-pamby rules about when they can changes into wolves. If they want to change they just do.

This book was a little predictable. I saw the ending coming a MILE away. But you know what? It didn't matter, because it was a GOOD ending, and I just got more and more excited the closer it came.

Granted, the love interests did bother me a little. I was torn as to who to vote for, but that was because they were both flawed, not because they were both perfect. But I guess that just made them real, eh? And that's quite a feat, to make SHAPESHIFTING WOLVES seem real.

The pack relationship was cool, the witches war was cool, the giant... oh, well, I don't want to give things away.

This is DEFINITELY a book that I will be purchasing when it comes out. And I don't usually do that. Usually if I get an ARC I don't bother with a finished copy, but I REALLY liked this one.

Great debut, Andrea!

P.S. I'll be giving away some NIGHTSHADE stuff during my birthday bash!
