It's here

There it is. The evil box come to take my computer away. And so, I must bid you a hesitant adieu. I shall have minimal access to the computers of others but don't count on regular posting (not that I've been posting regularly since finals started).

But! Joyous news! I have something else to keep my mind occupied! I've decided to quilt! Random, right? But check out my fabric! Pay most attention to the orange one, as it is my base fabric. Looks very similar to my layout. No?

Well... Goodbye-ish. At least for 10-13 days

And So It Begins & In My Mailbox (8)

Wahoo! I took my last final today (got an 84%, which is great, considering I honestly thought I was going to fail that test) which means I am free until January 4th! WAHOO!!!!

And, I talked with Dell today, and they'll be sending me a box in which to ship my computer to them for repairs in just two days! That means I will have a ton of time to read! I've already started! Here's my TBR pile next to my read pile:

All right, so I've got plenty of progress to make, but I'm working on it! Here's a closer look at my TBR pile:

Sorry the pictures aren't top-quality. I just took them with my phone.

And here's my IMM for this week. I would like to preface this by saing that I absolutely ADORE Bloomsbury! Seriously. They've been my favorite publisher for a while, but only recently have I been included in their "here are the ARCs we have" e-mail list! I LOVE IT! THANK YOU BLOOMSBURY!!!!

Wereling, by Steve Feasey
The Returners, by Gemma Malley (I've liked her previous books)
Split, by Stefan Petrucha

Oh yeah. This Christmas break is going to be epic.

Oh, and if you said you were willing to write a guest post. Thanks mucho! Just e-mail them to me whenever you can. Write about anything, just remember to be nice, and I will  be screening them.

I know that if I really want results, I would give you guys deadlines. But... I don't want to force you to do something you don't want to do. So, just have fun with it!

Guest Bloggers Wanted!

Hey guys! As I mentioned in my last post this whole next week is DUN DUN DUN! FINALS WEEK! Ah! And as soon as finals week is over, I've gotta send my laptop in to get the keys fixed (I just type and click too much. I couldn't handle it).

All of this adds up into a lack of computer, posting, and reading time. Which is NO BUENO!

But, I don't want to just have Squeaky in limbo for that long. It will get lonely! So I'm looking for guest bloggers. Not a ton, just a few.

If you're interested, please leave a comment and tell me what you'd like to guest blog about. For examples you can click here to see the 5 guest posts I've had in the past. But you can write about anything really. So long as it somehow ties in to something bookish. I will be screening the posts before I schedule them.

Thanks mucho!

Summary:

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human ... until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.
Review: This book is beautifully written, and has a wonderfully gripping storyline. I've heard so much about this book, and so I had to get a peice of the action. But... here's the secret: psst. There was very little action. There was a lot of talk of past events, a lot of romance, but not a lot of external conflict. Don't get me wrong, there was a lot of internal conflict (after all, will he be able to stay human or not?! Gasp!).

The wonderful thing, though, is that it didn't matter! This book is so fantastically written that it could be about characters watching paint dry and I would be absolutely hooked.

Don't get me wrong! Please! The story isn't boring. Not at all. This book is wonderful. Beautiful. Amazing. I love it. Seriously. That's the point of what I'm saying. :) Kapeesh?

My Amazon Review

If you love me then you'll....

...be my friend!

I'm a friendly person. I like people. I certainly like YOU people. So do you want to be my friend? I'm looking for more GoodReads and Amazon friends. Click each to see my profile. Oh! Speaking of which:

I've recently added an "Amazon" section to my far-right sidebar. If you have some spare time, perhaps consider checking out some of my reviews on Amazon (pretty much the same as the ones here), and find the ones you like most and mark them "helpful." You certainly don't have to mark all of them helpful (in fact, Amazon might get mad at me for that), but if there were any that you liked, just say so. It seems like my most popular review was my review of Shannon Hale's The Actor and the Housewife. You can see that one here.

Tee hee. You don't have to worry about the Amazon stuff if you don't want to, but I DO defnitely want y'all to be my friends.

So stop by! Please join the girlz as they chat about related topics all month at the rgz blog, and join us for rgz LIVE! with Tamora on Wednesday, December 16th at 6 pm PST/9 pm EST. A live chat with the author! Awesome!

Hope to see you there!

HAPPY DECEMBER!!
The month of Christmas joy and love for all men. *sigh* It's nice. Especially since I've already got all of my christmas shopping done! Hurrah! Now I can just keep buying books for myself! Here's one I bought last month:

Release Date: November 10, 2009
Pages: 256
Genre: YA Paranormal fantasy
Rating:

Summary:

Everlost, the place between life and death, where standing in one place too long will send you to a slow journey into the center of the earth, and a mysterious sky-witch tries to maintain control over the inhabitants, while the "chocolage ogre" tries to help people move on to the light. In this sequel we pick up just a short while after Everlost left off. Follow Mary the Sky Witch, Nick the Chocolate Ogre, and Allie the Outcast, and they discover what it means to be dead, and in some cases: less dead than they thought.
Review: I loved this sequel! As I mentioned in my review of Everlost, I really hoped that this series would become... a... series. Well. I guess I got that wish. :)

However, while Everlost pulled you along with a quick plot and lots of new story elements, this book was very much a bridge book. I've found this is not uncommon with the second book in a trilogy. Rather than going from a beginning to an end, this book went from a beginning, and built up to a satisfying ending for the book itself, but didn't wrap anything up. It has a cliffhanger ending that definitely requires reading the next book.

So, while I definitely reccomend getting this book, know that you can't just stop after you finish it.

Just like pringles.

Tee hee.
