Fluffly would like to remind you that Enna Isilee's giveaway ends in exactly 2 days and 12 hours! You'd better hurry up and go here to get the details and enter.
Also a reminder that if you blogged about my contest I need you to give me a link to the post, you can't just say "I posted."

Also, Squeaky News is back! I have just sent out the October edition of my newsletter! It has contest information, upcoming reviews, and an interview with a fellow book blogger! Let me know if you got it and you could see the images.

I'll post a link in a few days for those of you who haven't subscribed to my newsletter. Subscribing is easy! Just enter your e-mail into the area in the sidebar. There will be no spam or nothing, just book news!

Also, someone suggested making a list of books with arranged marriages. I think that's a great idea! From now on I'll do it in the Plotrospection post, but lets do it here now. I'll list a couple:

Ice,
by Sarah Beth Durst
The Goose Girl, Shannon Hale

What others?

  2. Hmm. Now it's going to drive me crazy if I can't think of any.

I think Book of a Thousand Days (Shannon Hale) had an arranged marriage of sorts...I'm trying to remember.

And the Looking Glass Wars deals with it a little (in the sense that Alice dreads having to marry the Jack of Diamonds when she grows up)...but then her whole family gets killed so that all sort of goes away.

Do any of those count? I'll try to think of better ones...

That's all I can think of at the moment (that took a while, but like I said, I have a fascination with this subject). I notice a lot of them deal with arranged marriages just by running away from them. Oh, and will this link suffice for your contest? ;)
