I like authors who like me
That may sound a bit shallow, but it's true. This evening I got to meet the lovely Sarah O'Leary Burningham and it was absolutely delightful. I'm afraid I was a little bit deer-in-headlights-ish, but it was a wonderful encounter. You'll be hearing more about her as soon as I finish her book: How to Raise Your Parents.

No, that's not at all shallow. I, too, like authors who like me. It's always so happily surprising when an author likes me, it's like this lovely shock.
