Monthly Author Spotlight?

Hey guys! Question: what do you think of a monthly author spotlight? An "Author of the Month" if you will. This would include an interview with the author, a giveaway of one of their books, and maybe some extra cool stuff.

I'd probably choose newer authors, or let you guys vote on who it should be.

What thinkest thou?

Watch it, love it, share it

Many of you are aware that I read Bree Despain's The Dark Divine a while ago and LOVED it! Well, for the next few days we're going to be doing all things TDD! First of all PLEASE watch this video, it's only 30 seconds long, and PLEASE share it with others. Bree is having a contest over at her blog with some WICKED awesome prizes, the prizes get cooler as the "watched" count goes higher on the video. So please share!

Check back later in the week for more Despain & Divine fun times!

Summary:
Eron De Marchelle isn't supposed to feel a connection. He is a Sandman, a supernatural being whose purpose is to seduce human charges to sleep. While he can communicate with his charges in their dreams, he isn't encouraged to--after all, getting too involved in one human's life would prevent him helping his other charges get their needed rest.

But he can't deny that he feels something for Julia. Julia, with her fiery red hair and her sad dreams. Just weeks ago, her boyfriend died in a car accident, and Eron can tell that she feels more alone than ever. Eron was human once too, many years ago, and he remembers how it felt to lose the one he loved. Eron has always felt protective of Julia . . . but now, when she seems to need him more than ever, he can't seem to reach her . . .

Sandmen are forbidden from communicating with humans outside their dreams. But will Eron be willing to risk everything for a chance to be with the person he loves?
Review: This story was very interesting. I haven't really read anything about sandmen before, it was refreshing. And creepy. I loved the way that you had to decide who the bad-guy was, and how it changed throughout the book. Very interesting.

BUT, while the ending TRIED to wrap everything up in a nice little package, it left some very important things out. Nothing was resolved. There was a big climactic moment, and then the next chapter everything was better. I have no idea what happened to the villian(s). Kind of bothered me.

It's a short story. I recommend reading it, even if I don't necessarily recommend owning it.

Questions!

All right. I'm going to answer your random questions now. Thanks to those who participated. It was a random post. I'll have a less-random book review up soon.

Q asked: How is a raven like a writing desk?
Ennalee answered: Both look like they've had ink spilled on them. :)

Heather asked: Why is Calculus awesome?
Ennalee answered: DON'T GET ME STARTED!!! Calculus can tell you everything and anything you want to know! Even if you aren't going into some mathematical or engineering profession, you should still know basic calculus. Name anything, ANYTHING in the world, and I'll tell you how it involves calculus.

Misty asked: Who's your favorite author?
Ennalee answered: This one's gonna be boring, sorry. It's still Shannon Hale. Hasn't changed. While I've read other good books, none have touched me like hers has.

Anonymous asked: What's your favorite book of all time?
Ennalee answered: Hm... My standard answer to this question is Enna Burning and Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale. And those are still my favorites. If I HAD to pick between the two, I'd probably pick EB (for obvious reasons).

Debbie asked: When you write (and I know you write) what genre do you find yourself drawn to?
Ennalee answered: Eepers! Yes. I do write, but VERY sporadically. When I write I tend towards YA fantasy. But out of all the stuff I've written, the only stuff I've actually LIKED (after going back and reading it again) was my adult fiction. Weird, eh?

Thanks guys! This was fun.

Pictures ain't worth nothin'

Okay. So I will answer your questions later, but first I have to say this.

Imagine my ABSOLUTE JOY when I went to the mailbox and discovered this:

Except mine was WAY cooler than this because it came in shiny green packaging (That I'm NEVER going to throw away) has a nifty "Advanced Reader's Copy" thing in the corner, is signed by the author, and the cover ROCKS MY SOCKS OFF! That picture above is NOT right. Not even a little. I hope the hardcover doesn't look like that, because (while I did think it was gorgeous BEFORE) I'm totally addicted to what the cover looks like in person.

LOOK AT THIS!!! SHINY!!!

Isn't that the most FANTABULOUS thing you've EVER seen? Oh. My. Word. As you can see, the cover is NOT grey at all! It's a fabulous pure white that sparkles like the rainbow when the light hits it!

Now all I have to do is read it... Tee hee.
