I have not heard of or seen any of the plays you listed, but allow me to suggest the work of Oscar Wilde (The Importance of Being Earnest and An Ideal Husband, particularly). There are written versions of the plays, the originals, and screen versions as well.

One of the funniest plays I've seen on-stage was The Foreigner, unfortunately I don't remember the author.

Oscar is another SO funny one that I saw first as a movie (starring Sylvester Stallone).

And for short, comedic writing that could be adapted into plays, I imagine, my favorite author is P.G. Wodehouse. I would be very shocked if some of it has not been adapted already.

Ooh. Oscar Wilde. I'd forgotten about him.

The Foreigner was on my list, I can't remember why I took it off.

I second The Foreigner. It may be the funniest play I've ever seen. I also love Noises Off and Shakespeare's Twelfth Night.

If you're researching comedies, why don't you try the ancient Greeks? They pretty much made up the idea of the comedy, and some of Aristophanes' works are pretty hilarious. But they can be a bit obscene, so I'd watch out for that.

I ADORE Noises Off (the old version) with all my being! And I checked out Foreigner today.

I'm not one for classic plays. I prefer things more contemporary.

Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare is pretty hilarious

I didn't find The Importance of Bieng Earnest all that funny, I found it rather boring

Much Ado IS funny. I think it may be my favorite Shakespeare.
