Maybe I'm reading, maybe I got trapped at the doctors, who knows. But for whatever reason, I didn't post this update. Good thing I have them scheduled up in advance, eh?

Mini Challenge:
For this mini-challenge you need to create a puzzle that consists of about three images which describes a book. I'm big on learning by example, so here's mine:

Do you get it? It's Blood Red Road! See how that works? Except on your blog you don't want to TELL people what it is, you want them to guess. The trickier the better!

Mini Challenge:

The shaman aimed his gun with the upmost precision. The old laser-ray 49200 was an older model, but it did the trick. Even from this distance he knew he could shoot a single lime off of one of the fruit-laden trees, over one hundred yards away.

An annoyed bleat came from his left, breaking his concentration. With a quick movement the shaman slapped the goat’s nose. “Hush, Baku. Tonight we save humanity.”

“I think humanity needs to be safe from you,” the goat grunted, but didn’t speak again.

The shaman looked back at his prey and took aim.

• How I'm currently feeling: Done with work and hurrying to Dr. appointment which is about an hour away. I'm starting to feel itchy from lack-of-reading.

Mini Challenge:
Have you ever played with wordle before? I hope so! There is no giveaway associated with this update, but wordles are so fun, I hope you'll still participate. First of all, this is what your finished product should look like:

Heh. Apparently I talk about Amazon and GoodReads a lot. Or, those are the two things that are consistent in almost ALL of my posts. You can click to see it bigger.

Here's how you can make one in an easy process:

1. Go to http://www.wordle.net/
2. Click "Create" on the top menu bar
3. Enter the URL of your blog where you see this:

4. Click "submit"
5. Play around with the various fonts and settings until you have your wordle exactly how you want it.
6. Once your wordle is perfect you need to take a screenshot. There are two different ways to do this. If you are a Mac, skip to step __ If you are a PC, keep reading.
7. Press Alt+Print Screen (Print Screen should be in the upper right part of your keyboard. Sometimes it is seen as Prnt Scrn or somethink like that)
8. Go to Paint, or some other image editing program (photoshop, etc.)
9. Paste. It should be the entire screen you were looking at. Crop it down to the size you want, and save.
10. Press Command-Shift-4, highlight your wordle. It should then save as a file on your desktop.

Add it to your blog with your update and voila! As always, feel free to ask questions in comments. And link to your wordle-post using the Mr. Linky!

Many of you have asked if you can put all of your updates/mini-challenges on one post that you update throughout the read-a-thon. YES! If I weren't hosting, that's what I would do so people's feed readers didn't explode. Go for it!

Mini Challenge:

• Favorite book-movie adaptation: I'm a big fan of the Lord of the Rings movies, and I also think the Harry Potter movies have done a great job portraying the books.
• Least favorite book-movie adaptation: Now this one I can answer a lot easier. I REALLY disliked the Eragon movie (the scene with Saphira in the clouds. Really?!). But I think the one that takes the cake is Ella Enchanted. I cried when I saw it(not happy tears). It was NOTHING like the book, and I love the book so much. Now that it's been a few years since I've read/seen it I might see it again, just so I can MAYBE enjoy it as a movie, and not as an adaptation.
